If Eric Hoji Hjorleifson isn’t ( @hojboss ) known to you. Well you probably don’t ski. And you definitely don’t ski tour. I think he might be the closest thing to a living legend. As he’s got a feature film called HOJI the story of Eric Hjorleifson. It came out last year by Matchstick and it’s an hour and twenty minute look into the mind of HOJI and the last fifteen years of footage of him skiing in Matchstick Movies.  I think I’ll just read to you what it says there.  Eric Hjorleifson lets his skiing speak for itself. He doesn’t stand on the bar and shout out his accolades. He skis for brands that give him 100% creative control over the equipment that he designs and uses. He chases storms. He ditches his cell phone for weeks at a time. His exploit are rarely flaunte don social media. In spite of all of this – or maybe because of it – he is a hero to legions of skiers across the globe. This is who Eric is – this is HOJI.  And it’s true… Since the very first day I met him at the age of 17 at Sunshine Vilalge.  He has been the same. Humble, insanely talented, innovative and I think he sees the world as a series of problems or maybe he doesn’t see problems he only sees opportunities or solutions that he can build upon.  He’s a deep thinker and I pulled him out of his machining shop to do this interview with me at his home in whistler. Enjoy.
